Whispers of the Summer.

Date

What does the world have to show me?

A running heart, melodies in the evening sky,
The caress of a never ending summer.
The ache of gluttony, blur, exquisite, blur.
Through peaks and valleys in but a day –
Smiles like spring, winds like joy, hearts that go on forever.

Oh what a world, what a life.
What a time, just this time.
What a time to be alive.

Songs ring through glass and bones, nerve and sinew
The anthem of hearts that ache for the world, longing
With wheels that burn the gravel, toes that toe the line
Emotions running high, sunset.

Darkness and red neon, shake
Twisting alleys, gray, New York
Through metal doors, glass, and a wail
Sorrow, doubt and everlasting joy
Riders in the midnight
Dazed under street lights
Take one, just one for the road.

Hopes and dreams, not ability
Words and sounds, flexibility
Go off script, destroy the playbook
Now fragile, away – from where they may look.

Come with me now, on the road
In my Dad’s car, take my word
Take my feelings, take my hurt
In the summer, you’re the First.

Lost Years.

The world awaits – arms wide open; as will I, ever broken.
